CMYK vs RGB

Spot Pantone vs. Process

CMYK vs. RGB:

If your file is in RGB, we cannot be responsible for the color conversion to CMYK. Most of the time all of your bright colors will go brown, your results will be MUCH better if you furnish your files in CMYK.

Bleeds:

All full color printed products require a 1/8 inch bleed. If you do not furnish a bleed, we will correct the file if possible (a fee for actual time will be billed) or put the order on hold until you are able to correct the problem.

Resolution:

Your files should be at least 300 DPI. Higher resolution is better, but file size is always an issue. Re-sampling files from a 72 DPI to 300 DPI does not work. Replace with a higher resolution image.

Proofs:

A PDF proof will be furnished at no cost. Your order will be placed on hold until we receive your approval. We can also send hard copy proofs at an additional charge. Under NO circumstances can we match a furnished color laser proof.

Spot Pantone vs. Process:

These are two very different and unique color standards. Be sure you have confirmed which color standard your final product will be printed in before file preparation has started. Process color jobs are very difficult to convert to Pantone colors. The same is true for Pantone to Process (4-color). Call or email beforehand so we can advise you as to which standard to create your files to.

Fonts:

For most projects, you will want to convert text to curves or outlines. This will prevent unwanted font substitutions when we proof your files.
